Get to know me...

At the age of 17 I fell in love with feeling strong and moving my body through exercise, so I did my certificate III and IV in Fitness. I loved being a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor however I quickly realised it was more of a personal passion than a long term career path for me. At this time I was slowly beginning to base my self worth on my body image and although I didn't realise it at the time,“I was about to nose dive into a big pool of personal growth.”

For the first time in my life my skin was breaking out a lot and I felt completely out of control and was starting to have a poor self image and this sparked an interest in skincare and the Beauty and Wellness Industry. At 19 I commenced a traineeship in Beauty Therapy and went on to qualify with an internationally recognised CIDESO Diploma. From there I began my career as a Beauty Therapist.  I went on to work in, open and managed some of the most beautiful and renowned Day Spas in Australia. At this time I was living in Melbourne and as much as I was loving working in Day Spas holding space for  guests and encouraging self care, I quickly made the connection between skin health and inner health and was itching to find out more. How could I help my clients achieve the skin (and the overall wellness) they truly want and deserve?

I enrolled in a Bachelor of Naturopathy in 2011, and after 2 years of study my home town Tasmania was calling me to be with my sister who was suffering from an autoimmune disease called Crohn's. So I deferred from uni and went home to support my family, little did I know that stepping away from my demanding social life in Melbourne would force me to slow down and look within.

I realised that I had been using food as a crutch for as long as I can remember, if I was sad I would eat, if I was stressed  I would eat, if I was tired I would eat... Food quickly became my frenemy and recognising that I had a binge eating disorder was the first step in the right direction. The next step was taking my focus off the food I was eating and looking at my life as a whole, why was I reaching for comfort? What was I really hiding from?

During this time I grew passionate about supplementation and taking the stress out of what we put on our plate. I read every book about personal development and spirituality that I could get my hands on, I went to workshops and seminars and became obsessed with bettering myself and improving my relationship with food and sharing my lessons with anyone who would listen along the way.
