Papaya Pit-Stop Smoothie

Papaya Pit-Stop Smoothie

by Lala's Plate, Inspired by Oscar Piastri + the McLaren F1 team

This vibrant tropical smoothie is designed for high performance, recovery, and seriously good vibes. Think of it as your trackside fuel – a creamy, nutrient‑dense blend packed with plant protein, anti‑inflammatory ingredients, and refreshing flavour.

Whether you’re post‑workout, pre‑meeting, or just chasing a sunshine moment, this blend is your go‑to.

Recipe (Serves 1‑2)

Ingredients:

• 180g ripe papaya flesh - Roughly ½ a medium papaya, scooped. Rich in vitamin C, digestive enzymes, and antioxidants.

• 1 frozen banana - For natural sweetness and creaminess. Provides potassium, fibre, and energy support.

• 1 scoop KAILO Vanilla Chai Plant‑Based Protein - Adds plant‑powered protein to support muscle recovery, hormone balance, and sustained energy. The vanilla chai flavour pairs beautifully with tropical fruit.

• ½ tsp ground turmeric - Anti‑inflammatory and antioxidant‑rich, great for recovery and gut health. Pairs subtly with banana and cinnamon.

• ½ tbsp pure maple syrup (optional) - For a touch of natural sweetness. Adjust based on your taste preference.

• ½ cup almond milk (Or your choice of plant‑based milk.) - Almond adds a light, nutty creaminess while keeping the smoothie dairy‑free.

• ½ cup ice - Optional, for extra chill and refreshing texture.

• ¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional) (Adds warmth and balances blood sugar. A beautiful spice pairing with banana and turmeric.)

Method:

1. Scoop the papaya flesh and add it to a high‑speed blender along with the frozen banana.

2. Add the protein powder, turmeric, maple syrup (if using), almond milk, ice, and cinnamon.

3. Blend on high until smooth and creamy — about 30–45 seconds, depending on your blender.

4. Taste and adjust: If you’d like it sweeter, add a touch more maple syrup or banana.

5. Pour into a glass, garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a wedge of papaya for flair.

6. Sip, fuel, and feel the difference.

Why You’ll Love It:

• High in plant protein for muscle recovery and energy

• Anti‑inflammatory thanks to turmeric and papaya enzymes

• Digestive support from papaya and banana

• Dairy‑free + gluten‑free

• Naturally sweet + energising

 Tip:

For an extra boost, add a few cubes of frozen pineapple or a teaspoon of chia seeds before blending. Both add texture, nutrients, and tropical flavour without overpowering the base.
