Erin's Winter Tips

Erin's Winter Tips

It's Erin here - KAILO's in-house nutritionist. Just dropping in to help support you as we head into the thick of winter.

Winter can be a beautiful time to slow down and reset- but it can also take a toll on your energy, mood, and immune system if you're not looking after yourself.

Here are my top three simple (but powerful) tips to help you feel your best through the colder months.

  1. GET SOME SUN ☀️

Vitamin D is essential for overall health- especially during winter. It supports bone strength, boosts immune function, and helps regulate serotonin levels and your circadian rhythm. That means better mood, more energy, and a more balanced body clock.

Approximately 1 in 4 Australians are deficient in Vitamin D, and this can increase to 1 in 2 during the winter months.  Just 10 minutes of safe sun exposure per day can do wonders for your health.

  1. EAT WARM, NOURISHING FOODS 🥑

If you’re craving warm, comforting meals right now- go with it! Your body naturally needs more fuel in winter to stay warm and energised. Warming foods like soups, stews, and roasted root vegetables not only satisfy but also support digestion and provide longer-lasting energy.

  1. SUPPORT YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM 💚

With more bugs going around, now is the time to prioritise immune support. I’ve been loving KAILO's Plant Well Vanilla Chai through the cooler months- it’s a deliciously spiced blend packed with immune-loving ingredients like Vitamin C and Zinc, plus B vitamins to support energy when you need it most.

Erin
